A Project Re-do for Granny

Last Saturday made 7 years since we said goodbye to my Granny.  So I thought Saturday was the perfect time to tackle a little project that I've been meaning to get around to for...oh....about a year and half.   I made this shadow box about 6 years ago using her picture, the card from the funeral home, her obituary that I typed out, and petals from a flower from her casket.

Well when I moved, tragedy struck.
The glass broke.
And some of the dried petals did not make it out alive.

I wanted to spruce it up a little bit anyway.  Luckily, I still had some of the same background fabric leftover. (I couln't use the same fabric because I had to cut holes in the fabric to take the petals off since I hot glued them onto the fabric.)  I also had this frame laying around.  Are you keeping track?  This little mini make-over cost me zero dolla!  Holla!

I salvaged 2 of the petals for symbolic reasons. One of the petals is for my grandfather who has been gone since my mom was only 19 years old and the other one is for my uncle who passed away just 3 months before my Granny. I'm sure that the three of them have partied it up behind those pearly gates for the last 7 years!

Sorry about the weird reflection in the glass....I had the TV on......of course!

I haven't hung it up yet because I'm trying to gather some frames to make a gallery wall.  So far, I have this, Tippy's masterpiece, and something else that I haven't shown you yet.  I don't have it framed yet but I'll show you when I do.  I'm pretty excited about it.  :)
