Tippy Tuesday

Tippy wanted to take the time to let everyone know that even though she is Mexican, she is not an illegal immigrant and she loves her country!

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
Don't drink too much tequila and drive!

You've Peaked my Pinterest!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock in the blog world, I'm sure you've heard about Pinterest. If I ever find out who came up with this fan-tab-u-lous website, I SWEAR!.....I will give them a big ole open mouth kiss! I see so much inspiration and get so many ideas when I read my favorite blogs but I either forget about them, don't bother saving them on my computer, or forget where I saw whatever I'm looking for. Well thanks to the wonderful world of Pinterest, I can easily "pin" anything I like and keep virtual bulletin boards which makes me oh so happy and my life oh soooo easy!

I joined Pinterest a couple of months ago after my invitation got accepted. Yes, it is THAT awesome that you have to either get an invite from a friend or request an invite which can take almost a week to get accepted. If any of you would like for me to invite you, let me know and I'll send you one. Anyway, so after 4 or 5 days, I got the email that I was waiting for and I could begin pinning my happy little heart away! All you have to do is install the "Pin It" bookmark to your browser and click it anytime you see a photo you want to pin. Then you can categorize it on the appropriate board. On a side note: I could not install the bookmark on my POS (piece of $&#*) Dell computer but once I got my Mac Daddy, it could not have been any easier. Granted, it could have been the operator and not the POS Dell but let's just point the finger away from me for once.....mmm-kay?

Thanks to all the Twitter rage, you can also follow other people's boards, re-pin other people's pins, like it, or comment on them. If you would like to check out my boards and follow me, click here. If you join and get hooked on it, I won't pay for your therapy I just may follow you too! It is so addicting and you will thank me later. Happy Pinning!! :)

My birthday present = Tippy's present

While I was getting my new TV installed, something else was getting installed at the same time....a new storm door!

Yes, my awesome dad, who I might have mentioned a time or two can do anything, came up and installed a storm door for me for my birthday present. That's the one thing I asked for my birthday....a storm door with a doggy door so Tippy can come and go as she pleases and I don't have to get up all the time and let her out cuz I'm THAT lazy. Wait....when did MY birthday presents start revolving around a 6 pound fur ball?

And in case you're wondering, the door did not come with the doggy door built into it. My dad didn't like any of those doors so he found a door that met his approval (it had to have a deadbolt what was secure and safe enough for myself and his spoiled grand-dog). Then we bought a doggy door and he cut a hole in the door and installed the doggy door. It wasn't as quick of a process as he figured it would be. In the words of my Granny, "Bless his heart!"

It took Tippy a day or two to really get used to it but she finally mastered it and has gotten pretty graceful, might I add. Here are a couple action shots....

And when she's not busy going in and out of her new found freedom, she's doing a little bit of this...

And a little bit of this....

So I have to tell you....I've always said Tippy wasn't the sharpest needle in my sewing box but she's starting to prove me wrong. Pre-storm door, I would always stand at the door and watch Tippy go pee pee and poo poo (which you can see here) then if she did her business, she would get a treat. Well, since she now goes on her own freewill and I'm not watching her, she's realized that she's not getting as many treats. So there have been times that she sits in front of the TV, stares at me and even whines! I tell her to go on outside and she will not go until I physically get up, stand by the door and watch her potty. Then she prances back in the door saying "I get a treat! I get a treat! I got Mommy off her lazy @$$ and I get a treeeeaatt!" Ok maybe she didn't say the dirty word but she said everything else. She knows she'd get a whoopin' and get her stinky mouth washed out with soap if she uses that foul language!

YSVNM (Yard Sale Virgin No Mo')

This may come as a shocker, but I don't think I had ever been to a yard sale until last weekend. (Yes, this post is a little late.) I may have been when I was younger and don't remember, but I know I haven't been to one in my adult life.

My co-worker was having one at a friend's house so I thought I would check it out. This is what I left with!

Let's start at the top left corner: 4 really nice beer glasses, 3 canisters, 2 pictures for a little girl's room (I have plans for these), 3 gold frames, a mini muffin pan, and the rest are stamps for my new card making hobby. Apparently, I spent big bucks for a yard sale. I left with all this stuff for just $15.25. Not too shabby. So I have a project that I'm working on with the 2 pink frames (hint: they're not pink anymore!) and I'm thinking about painting the gold frames silver and doing something with them in my bedroom. Who knows, that may change.

So the next morning, I went to Chick-fil-a to get some chicken mini's for breakfast. If you've never had them, then I feel reeeeeaally bad for you. As I was pulling in my neighborhood, I saw a sign that said "Yard Sale & Bake Sale". Whaaaat? You had me at Bake Sale! So I drove around my neighborhood twice searching for this yard sale and stumbled upon another yard sale. While I was there, I found these 3 kitchen utensils. Ya'll know I don't cook but I need more kitchen stuff for when I do cook and yard sales are the best places to get them. So I got a strainer thingy, another thingy to get spaghetti out and a potato masher. And that thing in the bottom of the picture? It was a cookie that I got at the Yard Sale/Bake Sale.

Let's take a closer look. It's a chocolate chip cookie with crushed Butterfinger on top and white chocolate and milk chocolate drizzled on top. Yeaaaahhh, it didn't stand a chance.

Tippy Tuesday

Daydreaming that hopefully one day she will be that one girl who has 25 men vying for her love.

Welcome me to the 21st century!

Ya'll know how much I love me some TV. So you might wonder why I have a TV like this....

Check out the depth on this bad boy.

In case this makes you want to go out right this minute and hunt one of these down, it's a Zenith.

Well, this TV was my Granny's and when she died 6 years ago, she wanted to make sure I got this TV because I was the only grandchild that didn't have a big screen. So even though this TV didn't have the best picture, I vowed to use it until it was no mo'. I had a feeling about a month ago that it was climbing into its death bed so I went ahead and started doing a little bit of TV window shopping. Fast forward about 5 weeks later and this happened.....

So the next day, I went to get the TV I spotted last month. Unfortunately, they didn't have any in stock but they could deliver it to me on Friday......it was only Tuesday. Thank God I had other TVs that could hold me over until then. Friday came and TA-DA!!

If you can't tell, I like to use Tippy to demonstrate how big things are in real life. Or I could just tell you that I got a 50" Panasonic Viera 1080p Plasma HDTV. As for the TV stand, that's actually just my coffee table that I pushed up against the wall. I was going to search for an old buffet on Craigslist that I could fix up but I think I like my coffee table as a TV stand. I've been wanting to get a new coffee table anyway because this one is a bit too traditional for my taste. But I'm thinking about painting it a bright color so that it doesn't look so traditional. The shelf below is perfect for my cable box and DVD player. I'll keep you updated if I decide to paint it.

As exciting as a new TV can be, I gotta say that I was pretty sad to get rid of the old TV for obvious reasons. This was the last gift that my Granny ever gave to me and I can't say that I didn't shed a few tears to see it go out. At least I have the new and improved vanity of hers that my dad fixed up for me!

**Shout out to Stephen for helping me find this TV at an awesome price**
