Well here goes another blog post bragging about my dad and his he-can-do-anything abilities. You may remember when he built a fence for me....the first fence he's ever built and it was perfect. Then he refinished my Granny's vanity for me which you can check out here, here and here.....the first piece of furniture he's ever refinished and it was perfect. And now, he decided to build my sister a bar.....the first piece of furniture he's ever built and guess what! It was perfect!
Her old bar consisted of a folding table with table cloth over it. This is what she was dealing with before.....
I promise my sister isn't an alcoholic.....she just likes to have parties :)
And here is the AMAZING After!
It even has its own beer fridge.
The upper cabinet with recessed lighting and glass shelves. Instead of painting inside the cabinets, he varnished the wood.
Molding detail on the upper cabinet. The paint is light green but he added a lacquer which gave it a silvery sheen.

Granite countertop. Photos just don't do it justice!
Wine glass rack mounted below the TV. I have to take credit for this one. This was the one part of his design that I came up with. Oh did I mention that my dad designed the entire thing from scratch?
I mean, look at how perfect each of those little notches are for the glasses!
Right side lower cabinets pull out. One for bottles......
The other is for a trash can, which she hasn't bought yet.
Of course it wasn't officially complete until he left his mark inside one of the base cabinets :)
So what do you all think? I think my dad has found something to occupy his time when he retires in a few years. Well, that....and fishing......and marking things off our daddy-do lists :)
